The Process
The Custom Pool Construction Process
PHASE: 1
Project design, approval, permitting & engineering
Your project begins with a design consultation to discuss your vision, layout, and materials. Once approved, you’ll meet your Construction Superintendent, who reviews measurements, the schedule, and what to expect as your backyard transformation begins.
PHASE: 2
Layout, dig & steel
We outline your pool and begin excavation the same day. Steel rebar is hand-placed to reinforce the shell, and pre-plumbing for drains, skimmers, lights, and return lines is installed. Once complete, an inspection ensures everything meets code and standards.
PHASE: 3
It’s starting to look like a swimming pool
Your pool takes shape as our crew applies high-pressure gunite to form a strong, durable shell. This step creates the structure that anchors the entire design. It’s one of the most exciting days of the build as your pool becomes fully recognizable.
PHASE: 4
Plumbing and tile
We install all plumbing and set equipment sized for efficiency and clear water flow. Waterline tile is placed, and a licensed electrician completes all connections. Required inspections happen now as your pool begins showing its finished look.
PHASE: 5
Coping, decking & footers
Coping and decking are added to match your backyard style and materials. This phase brings color, texture, and design together. Once the deck is complete, you’ll clearly see the flow of your outdoor space coming to life.
PHASE: 6
Safety first
Safety features such as screen enclosures, fencing, and alarms are installed to protect your family and meet local code. A final safety inspection is completed before the interior finish is applied, ensuring everything is properly in place.
PHASE: 7
It’s time for the interior finish
Your chosen interior—Quartz, Pebble, or Glass—is applied to achieve the look and texture you want. Once finished, the pool is filled with water. This marks the final step in construction before your system is brought online.
PHASE: 8
Pool party
Our technician starts up your equipment, balances the water, and cleans the pool. We then walk you through maintenance, controls, and care. With everything ready and running smoothly, your new Complete Outdoors pool is officially swim-ready.
